81 Things I Thought I’d Forgotten is a sequence of 81 photographic slides of objects from my studio which fulfil, in some way or another, a souvenir function. Each year since 2013, I have recorded my recollections and associations regarding these images onto audio cassette, without going back to listen to the previous sessions. Owing to the lengthy intervals between these recordings, the recollections undergo gradual transformation and filter into the labyrinthine tangle of my memory where all the episodes, reminiscences and my retelling of them blur into one another. In the installation that has resulted from this process, the images and the different audio texts, now re-recorded by an actor, are distributed around the exhibition space, so giving a physical character to the transformation.
