From Scratch is an endless loop of 8 mm film (transferred to 16 mm) which shows the image of a child walking along a breakwater. Affixed to the film projector is a knife which gradually scrapes away the emulsion of the film. The recorded image thus fades away in the course of the exhibition to be replaced by scratches and dancing dust particles.
